A Project for you all to work on (deadline by thanksgiving)
SOP Standard Operating Procedures
Everyone of us needs to right down
a step by step process of what you do when you are operating your position.
From the time you get in to the time you leave. I mean each of us needs to do this because we may have different ways of operating on a Sunday morning.
Each Sound Tech operator will have to agree together on an SOP for Sound
Each Lighting Tech operator will have to agree together on an SOP for Lighting
Each Media Shout Tech operator will have to agree together on an SOP for Media Shout
Each Video Tech operator will have to agree together on an SOP for Video
example
sound: 1. power system up
2. amps on
3. grab Mic's, batteries, and toolbox
4. etc.
even indicate when you start recording, i prefer to start recording during special music
Media shout: i keep the scriptures up the whole time, i keep the scriptures up until he doesn't refer to them, i keep the scriptures up only when he reads them (this can go any and either way, but you media shout operators have to come to an agreement)obviously if Mark says keep it up during his message you might want to keep it up.
i prefer the worship leader to come back to me and show me song list, i prefer to go over and drag him over to the booth, i can just wing it.
Video: i like using the presets, i like to go freestyle with it, i prefer to keep scripture up the whole time, i prefer to keep it up until he goes to story, I'm not really sure. I'm fine with whatever. I choose to record at countdown, i record when sermon starts, etc.
Lance and Mark do prefer things a certain way. So we need to figure that out
So you guys get the point
You may decide that some details don't matter and are up to the operator that week. As long as you agree on that.
We need every ones SOP's so that we don't get stuck forgetting something on a chaotic Sunday morning and it can also answer questions that you may have about operating.
If anything the goal is to have these SOP's in the form of a checklist and rules for each position, so that we all know how to arrive, get started, operate during all conditions, and know when and we are actually ending the show.
sorry if i confused anyone ( i have a tendency to do that)

What we got done
Booth:
1. Forrest is done building faces for racks but won't install them till we have keys for those who need keys
2. video extension: We'll build a box to put the table on next month sometime, upcoming weeks are too booked with stuff for Forrest. It will be done though.
3. Drawers: Forrest came up with an alternative for these, we will now have another toolbox for our things we need to have in the rack. We'll take care of this in the upcoming weeks.
Amps: they came back from repair only to learn that their circuit boards all need to be changed out with more updated ones. Forrest and Donn will swap two out per week until we have it.
Chapel: didn't have time for anything this week
1. I will rewire the CD recorder to an aux this next week and work on getting everything else done there too.

Lighting: Brandon, Randy
Media Shout: Jason
Video: James
2nd Service
Sound: Brandon, Randy
Lighting: Brandon, Randy
Media Shout: Jim

What happened
For the most part everything went really smooth in all positions. Until half time began and the band decided to change there levels on stage which left Brandon unable to remix everything, due to an increase in stage volume.
The person's title on the testimonies should be on longer. Nathan will take care of this
Things to do this week:
Booth:
1. make faces and locks for both audio and video racks
who: Forrest has got everything and will do this week
2. get more shelves and drawers for the racks
who: Donn and Nathan will take care of this hopefully
3. investigate Jim's idea of extending the booth (great idea Jim). Jim's idea is to take a another table put it at booth height, on the left side and move the video area onto that, not much weight, but we just need to investigate long term possibilities. Instead of a table a more solid block or something. It's just getting tight between media shout and video right now.
who: Donn, Forrest, Nathan, Brandon will look into this
Storage Room:
1. go through and test everything, so we know what we really have
who: i have no idea, we'll get to it though (on going project)
Chapel:
1. home for batteries, Mic's
2. carpet the floor
3. drawer for the rack
who: don't know yet
